Created attachment 388880 [details] Modified ebuild for ogmrip 1.0.1 with emake -j1 (might be not optimal) I tried to install ogmrip 1.0.1 yesterday and I got install errors such as: Makefile:976: recipe for target 'install-audio_codecsLTLIBRARIES' failed ... Makefile:1008: recipe for target 'install-containersLTLIBRARIES' failed ... Makefile:1446: recipe for target 'install-am' failed I have MAKEOPTS="-j5" on an Intel Core i5. I got rid of those errors by forcing make -j1 for both compile and install phases. Otherwise the latter faces some race conditions with files that are not yet present in the install tree, which other makefiles depend upon.
1) Please post your `emerge --info' output in a comment. 2) Please attach the entire build log to this bug report.

MAKEOPTS="-j1" works here
(In reply to Yixun Lan from comment #3) > MAKEOPTS="-j1" works here Out of curiosity: is there any support for that in ebuilds rather than overriding src_compile and src_install or changing make.conf even temporarily?
(In reply to Vince C. from comment #4) > Out of curiosity: is there any support for that in ebuilds rather than > overriding src_compile and src_install or changing make.conf even > temporarily? Sure. As a _workaround_, you can set emake -j1 or MAKEOPTS=-j1 in an ebuild. Fixing the actual bug is preferable, though.
(In reply to Jeroen Roovers from comment #5) > As a _workaround_, you can set emake -j1 or MAKEOPTS=-j1 in an ebuild. > Fixing the actual bug is preferable, though. Uhm, pardon my naiveness but what is "the actual bug" ? Do you mean the project's makefile? (Assuming and betting makefiles do support overriding the number of concurrent jobs.)
(In reply to Vince C. from comment #6) > Uhm, pardon my naiveness but what is "the actual bug" ? That several makefiles in the project fail to set their targets' requirements located in other subdirectories.

(In reply to Vince C. from comment #8) > Among which the -j1, I guess... No. That's not something you set in a makefile.
I'm pretty sure it's caused by hard-coding the path to the hidden libtool directories everywhere: -L$(top_builddir)/libogmrip-gtk/.libs and generally abusing libtool features.
(In reply to Jeroen Roovers from comment #9) > (In reply to Vince C. from comment #8) > > Among which the -j1, I guess... > > No. That's not something you set in a makefile. I don't understand a thing as I have no idea what these requirements are (I never developed anything with makefiles, just tried to understand those I needed to tweak whenever I had to) so it's Chinese to me; but I might take a look some day.

Closing: too old, compiles/installs fine at least on my machine.
Sorry for the noise, wrong clause... /o\
Crap. Really sorry again. Just realized this bug report has been applied to the ebuild... *pales* Fixing this automake nightmare is beyond me. I'm horrified how complicated this is! Reopening...
Package removed.
