I seems to me systemd-214 gets some love upstream at http://cgit.freedesktop.org/systemd/systemd-stable/ The git log shows ca 40 commits since release of systemd-214 Maybe it is possible to gentoo release systemd-214-r40 ? Though I am quiet happy using sys-apps/systemd-214 until now without these patches :)
Thanks for the heads-up.
+*systemd-214_p57 (04 Jul 2014) + + 04 Jul 2014; Mike Gilbert <floppym@gentoo.org> +systemd-214_p57.ebuild: + Apply patches from v214-stable branch.
systemd-214_p57.ebuild was intentionally removed in https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=517174#c2 ???? I would like to follow a more stable upstream :( /me reopened bug: needinfo
I intentionally removed it because 214 won't be the stable candidate and the stable branches hasn't proved to be more "stable" (our last play with upstream "stable" branch ended with it being completely broken and we needing to hardmask it). Also, no of us (systemd maintainers) are running it :/
What I would do (if we had time, that is not the case :'( ) would be to try to follow Fedora patches for that... at least we know a lot of people are using it, while that is not the case for systemd "stable" branches
Also, 215 is including many more bugfixes than 214-stable branch... is it having some major change regarding features to force people to want to run another branch? I could revert the ebuild again... but I wouldn't consider it more "stable" and would be worse maintained than the version we are using that is also the version upstream is really taking care of
title changed from sys-apps/systemd-214-stable-upstream-git - Please consider a rev bump to sys-apps/systemd-215-stable-upstream-git Maybe this time upstream can deliver something valueable ... if so, I would like to see an ebuild like sys-apps/systemd-215.4999 givin a git live ...
Personally, I have no interest in maintaining several live ebuilds.
It would/should empower users to inform Gentoo maintainers if there is an upstream patch useful. ...if upstream systemd-215-stable git will be of any value...

Looks like stable branch is not available anymore (probably because systemd releases occur much more often)
