Created attachment 372338 [details, diff] clang-resource-dir update Problem tracked down to this section in llvm-9999.ebuild: if use clang; then conf_flags+=( --with-clang-resource-dir=../lib/clang/3.5 ) fi Removing it allowed llvm and clang to build, with no apparent problem in mesa or libclc, but may break other software. I'm guessing the clang resource dir is explicitly defined here to ensure the clang header files are used instead of gcc's, which google suggests may have had tyedef issues in the past. Patch updates resource directory from ../lib/clang/3.5 to ../lib/clang/3.5.0 and now builds like normal.
This issue annoys me since several weeks, maybe even months.
// Compute the path to the resource directory. StringRef ClangResourceDir(CLANG_RESOURCE_DIR); SmallString<128> P(Dir); if (ClangResourceDir != "") llvm::sys::path::append(P, ClangResourceDir); else llvm::sys::path::append(P, "..", "lib", "clang", CLANG_VERSION_STRING); ResourceDir = P.str(); I'd say we can just remove the configure argument since it seems that clang can do fine without it. I think we used to pass it because we did install clang to /usr/$(get_libdir)/clang in the past, and we needed the override.
+ 11 Mar 2014; Michał Górny <mgorny@gentoo.org> llvm-9999.ebuild: + Remove unnecessary --with-clang-resource-dir that broke the build whenever the + version number was bumped. Please test.
Thanks, Michał. Rebuilt with ebuild rev. 1.79, source compiled as expected.
