Looks like someone refused to use the eclass.

checking for headers required to compile python extensions...   File "<string>", line 1

                        ^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax

                        ^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax
/include/python3.3

I already mentioned this when reporting an issue with ruby-bindings:

paludis really could get some love in gentoo.

This is fixed in 1.4.2.
