With the current stable icedtea (dev-java/icedtea-bin-6.1.12.6) dev-util/netbeans-7.2 (also tested with 7.3) freezes sporadically, often during auto-complete.

Reproducable freeze:
1. Click 'File' -> 'New Project'
2. The 'Projects' and 'Description' text fields stay empty and netbeans is frozen

Workaround:
Mask dev-java/icedtea-bin-6.1.12.6 and downgrade to dev-java/icedtea-bin-6.1.12.5.

Clear a raft of old versions at gnu_andrew's request. Can't clear them all due
  to missing keywords on icedtea-web.

Your icedtea version has been removed and does not exist in the tree anymore so we have no way to reproduce the problem. We have new versions of icedtea in the tree and gnu_andrew is continuously updating icedtea ebuilds in the Java overlay. Consider using them. Please reopen if you still encounter this issue.
