Description Rabbe Fogelholm 2013-04-24 20:21:45 UTC
When emerging dev-lang/erlang version 15.2.3.1 with the 'doc' USE-flag enabled, it seems that PDF parts of the documentation are not obtained. Some links in the installed documentation are broken. For example, in the page

file:///usr/share/doc/erlang-15.2.3.1/html/lib/inets-5.9.2/doc/html/index.html

the "PDF" link, pointing to

file:///usr/share/doc/erlang-15.2.3.1/html/lib/inets-5.9.2/doc/pdf/inets-5.9.2.pdf

is broken. This may be a clue: Run `ebuild erlang-15.2.3.1.ebuild unpack configure' and watch the console output. At the bottom it says "fop is missing. Using fakefop to generate placeholder PDF files.".

So maybe 'fop' should be pulled in as a dependency in the case that 'doc' is enabled for Erlang.

If I go ahead and emerge 'fop' manually, and then retry the ebuild command, the message 'fop is missing' no longer appears. However, there are more problems: If I now try `ebuild erlang-15.2.3.1.ebuild unpack configure compile install' I get lots of HTML files in the image directory but no PDF files. This may be why `emerge erlang' will not produce the PDF files in the expected places.

Appending my `emerge --info':

I will not be maintaining erlang anymore, sorry. If you can contribute, please work with the proxy maintenance team.

fop is indeed not working for some reason :/
