All details are here :
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-7199846.html#7199846

In short : A type at the command line is handled right:

$>emerge --deeü
Usage: emerge [options]

emerge: error: no such option: --deeü

similar typo in make.conf however not.

system: stable x86 Gentoo

Is this still an issue with >=portage-2.2.0 which now uses argparse by default?
Comment 2 Toralf Förster gentoo-dev 2013-08-26 17:10:16 UTC
