what's the actual origin of this one? Debian?

Please leave this bug open until it's included upstream, so we have a consistent documentation of packages with non-upstream pkgconfig files.

This will not block any stabilization request.

I already filed a bug upstream some months ago, but can't find the bugtracker anymore, lol.
