Description Thomas Sachau gentoo-dev 2011-10-08 15:37:58 UTC
I have gcc installed with fortran USE flag enabled, so i have a working fortran compiler on my system. But when dev-lang/ifc is installed in parallel, dev-python/numpy always uses the intel compiler, which then fails with sandbox access violations, since i have no license for the intel compiler (and i did not install it myself, it was pulled in due to dependencies).

Expected result: numpy respects the FC variable and uses the fortran compiler from gcc instead of always using the ifc, if it is found on the system, thus resulting in a finishing update/install.
Comment 1 Justin Lecher (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2011-10-09 11:33:01 UTC
Please attach a builg.log from numpy, the output gfortran -v and emerge --info, because on my system it works without problems.

My idea, is that it works during compilation but maybe the "configure" step tries to execute ifort.

okay super strange. py2.6 building is fine as it seems py2.7 as well. I don't get where it starts to suck. I cannot reproduce it here so I need the infomormation from you. Could you please give me the debug output from that emerge? And the content of F77 and FC. Could it be related to the hardened toolchain? I mean, that some auto detection things this doesn't work and falls back to ifort?
Comment 6 Justin Lecher (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2012-12-07 08:25:52 UTC
Still completely unreproducable. Could you please test with latest ifc, numpy, etc? Please reopen if you can still see this error.
