FYI: According to LinuxTV.org, linux-dvb-apps is now considered old/legacy code. You'll find the newer code only in git - no stable yet(?). Use their Projects page to find the projects. http://www.linuxtv.org/projects.php Which leads to DVB utils (dvd-apps): http://linuxtv.org/hg/dvb-apps You can quickly download a git tip tarball to the left and compile with Make.
It looks like Fedora is using snapshots for this
We would need to move this to take periodical snapshots as our version is completely outdated
I'm already dealing with tvheadend and I could take a look at gpac too. I have just added a dtv-scan-tables package, which has the files that v4l-utils is missing, so once those revdeps are dealt with, this can be last-rited.
Hmm, other distros still package this (usually as dvb-apps) for libdvben50221.so, which is still (optionally) used by tvheadend and not available elsewhere. Maybe we should keep this but without the scan tables.
