We are setting up an rsync mirror at ftp.linux.org.tr, accessible from the following URL.

rsync://ftp.linux.org.tr/gentoo-portage/

We are already hosting an official distfiles mirror. Can you set us up as official rsync mirror for Turkey? (Country code:TR) Also, we wish to sync from master rsync server. Our contact address is ftp@linux.org.tr

Is it possible to be listed as a country mirror and NOT listed at rsync.europe.gentoo.org DNS round robin? If so, we would like to be excluded from rsync.europe DNS rotation.

We have definitely reached a saturation point where adding new community mirrors increases workload for questionable benefit to our users. Thanks for understanding.

Aww.  There is no rsync mirror in Turkey and it would certainly help me :)

Hello. On behalf of the mirror-admin team, I want to apologize for not getting back to your bug report. At this time, we are closing ALL new mirror request bugs.

The Gentoo Linux Infrastructure team and the mirror-admin team have found that a plethora of community mirrors exist and adding more requires an exponential amount time from us then we have available. As such, this becomes a more poor user experience than desired because the team cannot keep up. The Gentoo Linux project is not contrained in hardware resources and does not need anymore mirrors (even if your request is for a country that is not represented currently).
