Name: Christopher Brannon Email Address: chris@the-brannons.com Chris will be joining the accessibility team, which definitely needs more manpower. Chris has 11 years of experience with various linux distributions. He contributed the media-sound/shoutcast-search ebuild (bug #268530), and I am working with him currently on the edbrowse ebuild (bug #350183). I am going to be his mentor and I am also the lead for the accessibility project. He has completed the ebuild quiz, and I am satisfied with his answers. Chris, please go ahead and send your ebuild quiz to recruiters@gentoo.org and cc me at williamh@gentoo.org.
I just sent my quiz answers via email. -- Chris
Ping, is a recruiter available to work with us so that Chris can come on board?
Recruiters have a (currently pretty small) queue, which means, that new recruits have to wait, until previous recruits have been processed. Since the free time of recruiters and the time needed for individual recruitments change over time, i cannot give you a fixed ETA, when we can start with Christopher.
I will be your recruiter. Please contact me by email to schedule the first review session. If you think that recruiters aren't paying attention to this bug at any later point in time, it's your job to ping us on IRC if you don't want any delays.
Corrected ebuild quiz sent.
End-of-mentoring quiz sent.
Corrected end-of-mentoring quiz sent.
I completed the task assigned to me at the end of the second review session. I sent the ebuild to recruiters@gentoo.org. Thanks, -- Chris
What we did: - LDAP - bugzilla - cvs/svn/git groups on cvs.gentoo.org - sent you your LDAP/mail password via encrypted mail - announcement Pending: - IRC cloak - Fixed quizzes and ebuild exercise Automatic: - gentoo-core What you need to do: - subscribe to mailing lists with your @gentoo.org address - request forum status bump in #gentoo-forums or by mail to forum-mods@gentoo.org (if you have a forums account) - send yourself mail to check if it works - add yourself to mail aliases ( like java@gentoo.org ) see /var/mail/alias on dev.gentoo.org - ask team leads to add yourself to herds.xml for the herds you want to join or do it yourself if you have the permission to do so - set lat and lon attributes in LDAP if you want others to know where exactly you are located - set gentooIM if you want people to be able to contact you via other means than email - If you want your blog to be syndicated to planet.gentoo.org, check http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/userrel/planet/index.xml - contact trustees@gentoo.org for Foundation membership (optional) For the mentor: - You are also responsible for the commits of your recruit during the first month so you should watch the commits of your recruit via gentoo-commits mailing list.
(In reply to comment #9) IRC Cloak done -Pending Fixed quizzes and ebuild exercise
I sent corrections from the third IRC session to recruiters@gentoo.org.
All done :) Welcome
Infra, please retire Christopher upon his request about a month ago. Christopher, thank you for all your contribution to Gentoo Linux. If you ever want to come back, reopen this bug
- metadata.xml files cleaned - herds.xml cleaned - Bugs reassigned
Retired in: bugs, ldap, vcs, mailinglists Forums, planet and overlays are left. -A
No forum account, so forums done.
overlays and planet? -A
No overlays account.
planet done
All done. Closing
Chris wants to come back. He now uses the nickname teiresias on irc, so you will need to set a cloak on that nickname for him. I don't know what else you will want to do (e.g. have him take the quizzes again), but let us know. Thanks, William
Chris will update this bug and tell you which nick he wants to use.
I'd like to keep my teiresias nick if I can. It still has an archlinux cloak, even though I haven't been with them for several months. On the other hand, if using my cbrannon account and nick makes things easier for Gentoo Infrastructure, I'm more than happy to do that!
@infra. What's your opinion on that? Is the nick change something that you can easily arrange?
(In reply to Markos Chandras from comment #24) > @infra. What's your opinion on that? Is the nick change something that you > can easily arrange? Sure, we can handle that, but please contact me BEFORE adding the account anywhere

Do you need to rename it first before we reinstate the acccess? If so could you handle the infra part so we can continue with the recruitment?
It's not only LDAP, there are a bunch of places that need to be renamed. Do you mind if we do this the time the recruitment is done?
Christopher, please contact me by e-mail to schedule the review session
*ping* Can someone give us an update on getting Chris back on board? Thanks, William
(In reply to William Hubbs from comment #29) > *ping* > Can someone give us an update on getting Chris back on board? > > Thanks, > > William Like I explained, this is waiting for infra to contact us to schedule the account setup.

Account is renamed. Please try the usual reinstating magic, let us know if it shouldn't work.
Account restored. leaving this bug open to remind me that I need to make an announcement Removing infra@ since their job is done :)

Welcome Will you please set up a Wiki account as described in https://wiki.gentoo.org/getting-started
The wiki account should be all done.
Looks like he is going to retire (as I have read in gentoo-core), but will give the usual 15 days to reconsider :/
(In reply to Pacho Ramos from comment #36) > Looks like he is going to retire (as I have read in gentoo-core), but will > give the usual 15 days to reconsider :/ I spoke with him once about this and he was open to reconsidering. Let me ask him about it in the next couple of days before you complete the processs; I would hate to see him leave accessibility.
Sure :)
Nope, not sticking around. I'm willing to do some proxy maintainership, but IMHO, someone who is as unmotivated and apathetic as I am should really not have the commit bit set...
OK, thanks for your help and good luck :)
- bugs, herds and metadatas cleaned
