Recently I have been updated gtk+ from 2.20.1-r1 to 2.22.1-r1. For example in GIMP I select File->Save As... In dialog I type "/ho" and Press TAB button. With gtk+-2.20.1-r1 I saw "/home/" after that. With 2.22.1-r1 focus is going to "Browse to other folders". Sometimes the first competition is successful, but the second fails. Completitions in gtk's open dialog works fine. It is reproducible in all gtk-software on my system. Will handle this directly on upstream as there is not much we can do downstream to solve this
In upstream bugzilla this bug is still 'unconfirmed'. Maybe it is gentoo-specific bug?
I don't think so (you can see a lot of *valid* upstream reports still in UNCONFIRMED state simply because people with enough permissions for changing status haven't taken a look on them yet or because it's a too minor issue)
