If you try to compile gnome-session-2.30.2 it asks to switch devicekit-power to upower whereas the configure fails complaining about missing devicekit-power Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. With a stable GNOME stack try to compile gnome-session 2. See that first tries to remove devicekit-power and replace it by upower 3. After successfully compile upower and remove devicekit-power it fails to compile gnome-session due to missing devicekit-power Actual Results: A broken gnome-session Expected Results: Compile gnome-session fine Just changing the sys-power/upower by sys-apps/devicekit-power in the ebuild is enough to fix it

stop mixing arch with ~arch. stable gnome-session is fine with stable upower, which is 0.9.5. severity is minor at most, perhaps even wontfix...
~arch upower needs ~arch glib which will go stable with gnome 2.32 in less than two weeks afaik. We don't have time to waste on backporting this kind of API changes to stable packages. Thanks for understanding.
