Description Sebastian Luther (few) 2010-10-10 18:59:50 UTC
Under some circumstances, the python eclass calls has_version with an EAPI-1 slot atom. The python team has been informed about that and remaining ebuilds will be fixed or get bugs reported.

Current portage version aborts on that. See build.log.

I just hit that bug too.

Resolved Later ? I'm sorry I have to disagree with the resolution

sys-apps/file python _fails_ to merge, sys-apps/file-5.04 just went _stable_

So this cannot be 'resolved'. it will be resolved if either the 'python' use for that package gets masked, or if the ebuild is fixed.

And Later is a little vague, can you give a little more precise please?

thanks. portage need not be concerned with this bug ... if you want to follow one, it'd be the tracker bug.

as for file going stable, that is wholly irrelevant. you're using a masked portage. dont try to bs issues into a scale they arent.
