I have the same bug, but my qt version is 4.6.3 not 4.7

I don't know what is going on:

build log with qt-4.6.3

here my build log for qt-4.6.3

with the unknown QMetaType
/usr/include/kdatetime.h:32:21: error: QMetaType: No such file or directory
Comment 4 Marian Kyral 2010-10-23 04:51:15 UTC
This file was probably removed in KDE 4.5.2. They did some important API changed in this minor release. It seems like some changes planned for 4.6 went from trunk to stable minor release. Maybe by mistake.
Comment 5 Marian Kyral 2010-10-23 05:34:56 UTC
No I was wrong. It seems to move in qt-core.

Code from kdatetime.h:

32 #include <QMetaType>
33 #include <QtCore/QSharedDataPointer>

But on my system I have QMetaType under QtCore:

-rw-r--r-- 3 root root 23 2. čen 04.03 /usr/include/qt4/QtCore/QMetaType

Creating a symlinks to QtCore/QMetaType and QtCore/qmetatype.h under the /usr/include/qt4 directory fixed the compilation.
Comment 6 Jochen Schlick 2010-10-27 22:12:38 UTC
thanx Marian - the workaround works.

so lets wait for a new kdelibs version to which /usr/include/kdatetime.h belongs.

It's easier to just edit the file, it hopefully will be replaced -hopefully- by a correct version as kdelibs are updated.

By the way, if the problem is really that simple, shouldn't the kdelib ebuild include the fix while upstream fixes this?
Comment 8 Andreas K. Hüttel archtester gentoo-dev 2011-01-06 14:57:39 UTC
Guys could you please file an upstream bug at bugs.kde.org (against kdelibs I guess)?!
Comment 9 Andreas K. Hüttel archtester gentoo-dev 2011-03-05 18:10:19 UTC
Fixed with kdelibs-4.6.1
