Description Alexandr A. Panko 2010-08-11 07:22:31 UTC
As I see USE flag "exchange" is disabled fully in /usr/portage/mail-client/evolution/evolution-2.30.2-r1.ebuild

As the result evolution just crushes in attempt to develop mail.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open evolution GUI
2. Create any letter (format or other thing does not matter)
3. Try to develop the mail. And GUI disappears without any warnings or bug reports.
4. Sure it is concerned only Exchange protocol account.

BTW, Exchange mail is received correctly, but it cannot be sent (just left in outgoing folder).

Actual Results:
GUI disappears without any warnings or bug reports.

Expected Results:
Mail sent, and work of GUI continues.

There was a lot of cleanup in overlay and I guess someone forgot to add the flag back.
Comment 2 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2010-08-13 15:59:34 UTC
I cannot test this just now but, from my point of view, this looks to me like invalid since after reviewing evolution configure scripts I couldn't see any option related with exchange. Also, reading NEWS file in /usr/share/doc/evolution-2.30.2-r1/NEWS.bz2 I can see the following change:

Bug #456240 - Move exchange plugin to exchange package (Milan Crha)

Then, I would try to simply emerge evolution-exchange package

Good luck!
Comment 3 Alexandr A. Panko 2010-08-14 05:27:52 UTC
Yes, you are right.

Will report as a separate bug report about crashes (because of no exchange provider) at Monday.

Thank you.

Umm, maybe those crashes are the same than reported in bug 332637, in that case, would be nice to get a proper backtrace in that bug report :-)
