Description Tijs Zwinkels 2003-11-04 12:47:30 UTC
The Control Center runs just fine, but it's entirely empty.
All the control-center items are in the 'unknown' Start-menu item instead.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Installed Kde using hints in the first post of this page: http://forums.
gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=102451&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=25
2.open the control center

Actual Results:
The control-center is empty.

Expected Results:
It should have displayed all the configuration items in the control-center
instead of in 'unknown'.

it's a known problem, and it is happening with all distributions. Until
the kde folks give us a fix, it's stuck this way though.

rumor has it you can find the control center entries in the K-menu somewhere.

You can find some of then in an Unknown folder in the Kmenu (at least, that
is what happens for me).

I've seen this too and have found a solution.

The following KDE bug contains Gentoo-specific fixes to your problem.

I've committed a fix to the ebuild which could create the softlink that fixes
this.
