It seems for some unknown reason, it adds a multiline string to the makefile without \ at the line ends. This seems to happen on autoreconf with latest autoconf versions.

Can you post your ´emerge --info´ and the output of ´eix -cI auto´? I can't reproduce it in a x86 system with everything up to date.

Please try with a newer revision and if it still fails, please specify use flags used.
I no longer see this issue. I think it is a dupe of #317175, thouhg not sure. Anyway, no issue any more, so I'm fine.
