http://www.r1ch.net/stuff/r1q2/ Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: the ebuild works, but r1q2 seems to want ref_softx.so which the source doesn't include (or does it?) qmax ebuild has that file, however.

Created attachment 323982 [details] quake2-r1q2-8012.ebuild Yamagi Q2 recommended this engine for multi-player. I tried to give it the same treatment but it didn't really work out. It seems oblivious to home directories and despite my patch, it has trouble locating the game content. Overall, it seems very unpolished and somewhat unmaintained. Here's the ebuild anyway.

Created attachment 324114 [details] quake2-r1q2-8012.ebuild After discovering that r1q2 is still the most popular server implementation, I decided to give the client another chance. With a little more work, I made it aware of HOME and fixed single-player. Unfortunately, it only supports OSS and doesn't work with PulseAudio. I have added a warning to use quake2-aprq2 as a client instead, which I am about to submit a bug for.
