Description Rabbe Fogelholm 2010-03-13 11:14:43 UTC
Platform is SUSE Enterprise 10 SP2. Bootstrapping fails for me at the `emerge -e system' step. My setting of USE flags is: USE="X unicode nls -ipv6 -openmp". This failure was first observed 2010-03-08. The console has:

emerge -e system

# util-linux doesn't work on non-Linux and doesn't work in Prefix. This
# release of e2fsprogs switches from using internal libuuid and libblkid
# to those provided by util-linux. In Prefix (but probably for FreeBSD
# also) we need to probably create virtuals for these, so we can make an
# e2fsprogs-uuid ebuild or something to provide these libs with on Prefix.

Does this still happen? I put some reverse masks in place for the time being.
Comment 4 Rabbe Fogelholm 2010-04-05 14:37:24 UTC
Cannot say today .. #313239 shadows this problem for me.
Comment 5 Stuart Shelton 2010-04-05 21:16:54 UTC
Bug 308457 (marked as a resolved duplicate of this bug, but should probably be re-opened) is still an issue.
Comment 6 Rabbe Fogelholm 2010-04-06 06:48:48 UTC
Hmm .. somehow this is no longer a stopper, since bootstrapping worked for me this morning (with USE="X .." and all).

Didn't notice comment #3 in my previous comment. It seems that the added masks solve the problem.
Comment 8 Rabbe Fogelholm 2010-12-11 09:20:57 UTC
I checked the state of things today. Bootstrapping on the platform at hand (same USE flags too) succeeds and the resulting version of sys-apps/util-linux is 2.17.
