Platform is SUSE Enterprise 10 SP2. Bootstrapping fails for me at the `emerge -e system' step. My setting of USE flags is: USE="X unicode nls -ipv6 -openmp". This failure was first observed 2010-03-08. The console has: emerge -e system Calculating dependencies ^H^H... done! !!! All ebuilds that could satisfy ">=sys-apps/util-linux-2.16" have been masked. !!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request: - sys-apps/util-linux-2.17-r1 (masked by: package.mask) /local/scratch/nightly/2010-03-13/usr/portage/profiles/prefix/package.mask: # Fabian Groffen <grobian@gentoo.org> (26 Jul 2009) # util-linux doesn't work on non-Linux and doesn't work in Prefix. Does this still happen? I put some reverse masks in place for the time being.
Cannot say today .. #313239 shadows this problem for me.
Bug 308457 (marked as a resolved duplicate of this bug, but should probably be re-opened) is still an issue.
Hmm .. somehow this is no longer a stopper, since bootstrapping worked for me this morning (with USE="X .." and all).
(In reply to comment #3) > Does this still happen? I put some reverse masks in place for the time being. Didn't notice comment #3 in my previous comment. It seems that the added masks solve the problem.
I checked the state of things today. Bootstrapping on the platform at hand (same USE flags too) succeeds and the resulting version of sys-apps/util-linux is 2.17.
