I'm having the same failure. A build log file is attached

Looks like http://www.mail-archive.com/blfs-support@linuxfromscratch.org/msg04410.html , please check if it solves your issues

Good luck!
Comment 7 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2010-03-30 11:53:32 UTC
And upstream is aware of the problem, but they request a patch to solve it. I am not sure what more can we do in our side... :-/

Comment 8 Pacho Ramos gentoo-dev 2010-05-08 09:11:45 UTC
Please attach your /etc/hosts file to confirm it's causing the problem and, then, maybe we could show a more informative die message when test fail

Please reply
Comment 10 Lie Ryan 2010-06-16 13:04:48 UTC
Sorry, it wasn't happening to me anymore; I did some changes to my /etc/hosts file to fix some other unrelated problems, and apparently inadvertantly fixed this problem as well.
Comment 11 Gilles Dartiguelongue (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-09-30 12:14:21 UTC
reopening due to provided information.
Comment 12 Gilles Dartiguelongue (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-09-30 12:17:22 UTC
Not closing invalid since it seems this problem can occur in valid situations (system with no loopback ?), however we do not plan of fixing this ourselves. orbit is on its way out of gnome.

Closing upstream since they would be happy to take any patch.
