Description Matteo Azzali (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-07-18 16:15:28 UTC
As Gconf dependency for sdlmame is actually something not needed, and not everybody wants gnome in their systems (note that masking gconf is the only way to be sure to not install gnome deps) the following patch shoul be used when no gnome and no debug use flag are used , instead than gconf dep (as per sdlmame-0.126). This also may allow for minimal system to not use dbus.

patch is not mine, more info at
http://doktorseven.miskie.net/site/news.php?item.14.3

Thank you

Reproducible: Always

Looks like a duplicate of 232233; the patch isn't in portage because upstream rejected it. See,

Letting games herd to decide if they want to maintain a custom patch that upstream won't take.

Whoops, sorry for the intrusion then. I didn't thought that this behaviour may be the wanted one.
Comment 6 Mr. Bones. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-07-21 02:21:54 UTC
yes, if upstream doesn't want it we don't want to carry it in portage.
