hi, there is a new release in town :)
I noticed it and was frustrated right away when i noticed it wants gconf now hardcoded. I noticed the DEBUGGER define is gone and hope it's a mistake. However, i won't do a bump until that's sorted out. I'm not really motivated to get a gconf setup for this.
http://www.bannister.org/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=42698#Post42698 So it doesn't seem to be a mistake at all. I'll halt the updates until it's fully decided that they keep the gconf requirement. I explicitly blocked gconf on my desktops (XFCE) to keep it slim. If another dev really wants to bump sdlmame, i wont have a problem with anyone doing so or taking over the package.
(In reply to comment #2) [...] Hi, yes i noticed that requirement too (i mean gconf, i bumped sdlmame manually)... i agree with you on this, for istance i use Kde as desktop environment and in general i dont like to use gnome deps/components. I hope this will change in the near future.
I've put some experimental test version to: http://dev.gentoo.org/~joker/sdlmame/ You need to download the ebuild, patch and distfile to be able to use it. I only tested it without gconf (local useflag) so far. I'm also not that much in a mood to maintain this patch in the future for every new release.
Ok, upstream dislikes that patch. @games: Does someone from the games team want to take over this package?
(In reply to comment #5) > Ok, upstream dislikes that patch. > sad to know this, anyway it works fine here
hi, forgive my n00b-iness, but i downloaded all these files from http://dev.gentoo.org/~joker/sdlmame/ into games-emulation/sdlmame and now it's complaining that the file isn't listed in the manifest. How do i tell it not to check?
Ok, nevermind :) I read the wiki and learned all about overlays :) Thanks!

sdlmame-0.127 is now in portage. Thanks
Please also add yourself to metadata.xml as maintainer since you took over the package. Thanks.
