The XFree86 nv driver has been lacking support for the GeForce2Go graphics adapter in XFree86 4.2.0, requiring the NVIDIA binary driver to be used. Recently changes have been committed to the XFree86 project CVS which enable the nv driver to work correctly with the GeForce2Go (used in laptops, i.e. the Toshiba Satellite 3000 series and in some of the Dell Inspirions). Thus XFree86 can now be used on these laptops without installing NVIDIA's binary drivers (however without hardware acceleration). This has also brought an increase in stability on my laptop (Toshiba Satellite 3000-514, previously used the NVIDIA binary drivers in version 1.0.2880). I've run the patch for two days straight now without a single hickup. The patch can be found at the above mentioned URL and is relative to XFree86 4.2.0. I'd be most happy to see this patch integrated into the ebuilds for XFree86 until the next release of XFree86.

Added patch to xfree-4.2.0-r11.
