I noticed this in Kadu IM and in lastfm client (media-sound/lastfmplayer). For example i get "Å" instead of "ł", or "ó" instead of "ó". They can be *displayed* fine, only I can't input them from the keyboard. All programs based on KDE libs work fine, it's happening only with pure qt apps. This happen on all UTF-8 based encoding. Actually on Russian I have same problem with net-im/psi-0.12. PyQt4-based apps unaffected.
You can always inform directly upstream by filling this form http://www.qtsoftware.com/bugreport-form I would do it but i am not using polish or russian layouts so I am not able to describe the problem in details So , fill an upstream task. They might not be aware of this :)

Still valid with qt-4.5.0?
Re-open if this problem is still valid using the latest 4.5.0 packages
I haven't seen this in a long time now. It's either fixed, or all affected apps have been patched up.
