It seems that in the configure program there is a confusion about using po/Makefile and po/Makefile.in.

I tried replacing all occurrences of po/Makefile with po/Makefile.in in the configure program, and it completed successfully. However, I don't know an easy way of testing the entire ebuild.
Comment 8 mike.hadjimichael 2009-01-02 14:26:10 UTC
(In reply to comment #7)

I've gotten this to compile. Email me for details, but basically, I hacked it a little bit to do two things: (1) made a link from po/Makefile.in to po/Makefile (in configure), and forced the USE_NLS option in Makefile.in.in, since I believe that is not making it from the ebuild command into the configure command.
Comment 9 Rémi Cardona (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-01-03 11:49:05 UTC
Could anyone actually send a full build.log and not a config.log?

Thanks

maekke, could you tell us what you tried to fix with the gettext patch ? I don't see a comment with it and it's the obvious cause of the problem here. Removing it allows gtkam to build succesfully here.

without the patch, I'm unable to emerge gtkam:
config.status: creating po/Makefile
config.status: executing po/stamp-it commands
config.status: error: po/Makefile.in.in was not created by intltoolize.

this is on complete ~x86. IIRC the source of the problem is dev-util/intltool-0.40.5, see bug #242660.
Comment 14 Gilles Dartiguelongue (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-01-12 22:03:31 UTC
this is a intltool version mismatch, the package was generated with 0.40 for example and misses bits if your system has 0.37 or the other way around. Proper way to solve is probably to rerun intltool-prepare or to raise intltool dep.
Comment 15 Markus Meier gentoo-dev 2009-01-17 12:41:48 UTC
