It looks like compnerd's retired (see bug 71985), so I'm gonna be trying to give bless a good home. I'm not immediately able to recreate this, so can I ask what versions of mono you guys are using?

I just tried again after having had bless-0.6.0 sitting in package.mask for a while and it installed fine. It looks to me like some other change has fixed this bug.
Ok, thanks for testing that John! I'm gonna mark this bug as WORKSFORME, since I can't replicate it at the moment. If anyone is still running into this issue, feel free to reopen this bug and I'll look into it again... 5:)
(In reply to comment #3) During one of the updates the problem went away. I cannot remember exactly when, and which package was responsible. Just to make sure, I emerged bless again today and I can report that the bug is no more. It was compiled with the following: dev-lang/mono-2.0.1-r1 dev-dotnet/gtk-sharp-2.12.7-r5 dev-dotnet/glade-sharp-2.12.7-r5
I ran into this bug, it still exists. However I was able to determine the cause with the information already posted. I had the same version of mono as Andreas but I was using 2.10 of gtk-sharp and glade-sharp. Once I upgraded both of them to 2.12.7, Bless compiled without any problems. So I would highly recommend that the bless-0.6.0 ebuild be modified to make it require at least 2.12.7 of both gtk-sharp and glade-sharp otherwise others will still run into this issue.
