What's emerge -pv lirc like?
Comment 2 comicfans44 2008-09-11 03:42:31 UTC
it's a 2.6.26   -2.6.27    header file change
you should change
 #include <asm/semaphore.h>
to
#include <linux/semaphore.h>
patch can be found here
http://www.nabble.com/Fix-build-on-2.6.27-td18813057.html

Is there a chance of including updated ebuild with this patch in portage tree?

Patch for using lirc with kernel 2.6.27.
Comment 6 Peter Fox 2008-11-02 08:29:11 UTC
Even with this ebuild and patch, the lirc_mceusb2 module won't load into kernel 2.6.27, as described in bug 233425. However, upgrading to lirc-0.8.4 fixes these problems, so mark this bug resolved?

But 0.8.4 doesn't compile for me while 0.8.3-r2 does.
Using 2.6.27 kernel of course.

Tired of waiting for the "stable" version to be fixed (will it ever be?). I moved to 0.8.4 (still in ~arch) since that compiles and runs fine for me.
Comment 10 Thomas Anderson (tanderson) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-12-25 13:32:56 UTC
This is fixed in CVS. Thanks for the report Mieszko, and thanks for the patch James!
