Description Markos Chandras (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-07-05 12:19:08 UTC
/var/log/messages is flooded with

hci_scodata_packet: hci0 SCO packet for unknown connection since I installed an USB Bluetooth dongle

This has been filled as bug on ubuntu so I guess I should post it also here

I also created a small patch to fix the problem

Solution was originally posted on

http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?p=5142190#5142190

This kind of flood makes /var/log/message have 2GB size per day which is a complete disaster for the hard drive.

Daily logrotate could help

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.use usb bluetooth dongle

Im gonna post the patch and emerge --info on the next post

Not a dup, your device is different from the one in the other bug, and that other bug is definitely fixed.
Comment 5 Markos Chandras (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-07-07 09:22:47 UTC
I guess it is an upstream problem
Comment 6 Duane Griffin 2008-07-12 01:23:12 UTC
It does indeed look like something already known and being worked on. We'll keep an eye on the upstream bugzilla entry and update as needed.
