Kalos' quiz is ready to go. Any takers (recruiters)?
(In reply to comment #1) > Kalos' quiz is ready to go. Any takers (recruiters)? > I will take this one. Please send the staff quiz to recruiters@gentoo.org and then contact me via IRC or email to schedule a review session. dav_it: Let's use this one to get you familiar with staff recruiting.
amne or kallemej: As project leads please give your stamp of approval.

'sok for me. =) Can you also send me the quiz?
(In reply to comment #3) > amne or kallemej: As project leads please give your stamp of approval. > *stomp* erm *stamp* :-) Haven't been around much lately due to holidays. All fine with going on with recruiting here.
Ping. What's the status here? Please try to actively contact me to schedule a review session (best way is through IRC) as I am quite busy and don't have the time to actively contact everyone in the queue.
(In reply to comment #7) > Ping. What's the status here? Is there a preferred channel in which I can reach you via IRC? Sorry about the confusion.
Try #gentoo-devrel :-)
What we did: - LDAP - gentoo-core - bugzilla - announcement - sent you your LDAP/mail password via encrypted mail Not done: - IRC-cloak - #gentoo-dev channel access kalos wasn't registered so left these out What you need to do: - subscribe to mailing lists with @gentoo.org address - send yourself mail to create .maildir - add yourself to mail aliases ( like java@gentoo.org ) see /var/mail/alias on dev.gentoo.org - set lat and lon attributes in LDAP if you want others to know where exactly you are located - set gentooIM if you want people to be able to contact you via other means than email Sorry about the lengthy process.
BTW I changed the account zach@bsbcomputing to kalos@gentoo.org but here we have an another access. Which account would you like me to switch to kalos@gentoo.org and which one to disable?
(In reply to comment #11) > BTW I changed the account zach@bsbcomputing to kalos@gentoo.org but here we > have an another access. Which account would you like me to switch to > kalos@gentoo.org and which one to disable? > the zach@bsbcomputing one is appropriate. The other one was entered by Pilla because Bugzilla was having trouble with the @bsbcomputing one. I am working on all of the other things currently.

> > zach@nzachary.com is now disable so we should be done here. Reopen or contact > us on IRC if something is not working. I recently had multiple components of my computer go out, and I didn't have a backup of my .ssh or .gnupg directories. So, I will need to make new keys for my access. Please advise on the best method for this task. Thank you preemptively.
Robin (robbat2) took care of the issue for me. Thank you.
Kalos has expressed the wish to become a developer, joining the LXDE team. I will be mentoring him.
(In reply to comment #16) > Kalos has expressed the wish to become a developer, joining the LXDE team. I > will be mentoring him. > I will be your recruiter again. Please send needed quizzes to recruiters@gentoo.org when approved by your mentor. Always add a comment to this bug when you send something to that address. When the quizzes are sent please contact me by IRC or email to schedule the first review session. If you think that recruiters aren't paying attention to this bug at any later point in time, it's your job to ping us on IRC if you don't want any delays.
Adding a note here as this bug wasn't used to change Nathan's username from kalos to NathanZachary: bug 279717.
Thank you for the update to this bug. I am currently away until the middle of October, but when I return I will finish up my quiz for submission. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns regarding my away status, please contact me via email. Thanks, Nathan Zachary

If you are still planning to finish the process talk with your mentor to get him to reopen and how you schedule to get the quizzes done.
I am sorry about not meeting this deadline. I had talked with Ben a while back regarding some personal issues which thwarted my ability to finish the quiz. When I return fully, I will request this bug reopened. Again, I apologise for the inconvenience.

Hello, I know that I won't be able to even begin looking into developer duties until the end of this year. As such, please feel free to retire my dev account. Hopefully I can still remain a moderator on the forum though. Cheers, Nathan Zachary
(In reply to Nathan Zachary from comment #25) > Hello, > > I know that I won't be able to even begin looking into developer duties > until the end of this year. We'll give you 14 days to reconsider, so no one's making hasty decisions here. Now some words from me: If/when you intend to return, you can just send a mail to recruiters and remind us you're a returning dev. Tell us what you'll be working on, how much time you have to contribute, and we'll schedule a short interview to check you're up to date with latest changes. And as to forum moderator status: You'll have to ask the forums team. They are CC'd here already, but upon retirement, we'll make sure to ping them again. But I can offer some words of encouragement: It seems we have numerous non-dev moderators be active currently, so there seems to be hope! Although you are being retired in the first place due to having low / no activity with forum moderating / administration duties from what I gather from the infra logs provided to me. But at least you won't be subject to those checks anymore :)
Understood on all counts, and thank you for the detailed information! I do hope to be more active on the forum in the upcoming months, and will give due diligence in that regard. Hopefully life will slow down at some point. :)

(In reply to Sam James from comment #28) > - Forums (will need dropping from dev group?) Moderators and Developers are separate groups, and since there seems to be some indication towards becoming active again at least on the forums side of things, we'll discuss internally what to do with the moderating bits. (I'm thinking GLEP 38 could use some changes and updates, but that's discussion for another time and place.) So with regards to this bug, I'd say forums done.
