Description Jacob Godserv 2008-05-18 12:47:08 UTC
If I, say, open a YouTube, and a coin-flip inside the computer happens to hit heads twice, firefox (or, gecko according to bug-buddy) crashes.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Visit a site, probably with audio, like YouTube
2. Try visiting other pages, and browse around a bit.

Actual Results:
Firefox just closes down.

Expected Results:
Firefox stands its ground and plays my video.

Comment 4 Stefan Huber 2008-05-24 08:36:33 UTC
Same issue with firefox-bin-3.0_rc1 and netscape-flash-9.0.124.0. Works after downgrading to netscape-flash-9.0.115.0.
Comment 5 Jacob Godserv 2008-05-24 15:38:05 UTC
Doesn't work for me after downgrading.

I've been resolving a lot of issues on my system like this by recompiling. I tried recompiling Firefox, but that didn't fix it. Is there some other component that might cause these crashes?
Comment 6 Jim Ramsay (lack) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-10-17 14:25:01 UTC
Would everyone affected please report on whether this still persists with net-www/netscape-flash-10.0.12.36 ? Please post whether it works for you or not, and what version(s) of firefox you have tested with.

The reason I ask is that netscape-flash-10.0.12.36 is on a fast-track for stabilization (Bug #239543), and version 9 will be going away.
Comment 7 Jim Ramsay (lack) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-10-17 16:22:24 UTC
Furthermore, please also post what version of media-libs/alsa-lib you are using... this could perhaps be a duplicate of Bug #235692
Comment 8 Jim Ramsay (lack) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-04-10 14:41:20 UTC
I have had no response for a few weeks here, and the latest flash version (10.0.22.87) seems fairly stable for most users.

Please reopen this bug or open a new one if you experience the same problem after upgrading to the latest flash player.
