Hello, I am bringing forth this complaint to User Relations, as eroyf is not a developer. I wish to complain about eroyf's behavior in #gentoo-dev on April 12th 2008 as well as other dates. I believe this kind of behavior is totally unwarranted and disgusting, and should not be tolerated in an official Gentoo channel. It sets a poor example, and also presents a poor image of Gentoo. Beyond that, an even poorer image is cast by the very fact that such behavior is tolerated. eroyf shows a pattern of unprofessional, childish, crude, insulting, trollish and down right abusive behavior in #gentoo-dev. Examples include him acting drunk, and insulting others mothers. I am using full-context logs, as in, I have not deleted anything, so that the “feel” of the channel at the time may be determined. Timestamps are all over the map, as others have contributed logs. To be quite honest and blunt, in my opinion this does violate certain policies. There is a clean language policy, and while we do not know the age of all members in the channel. I do know we have some younger people who parents would not appreciate such jokes (even if they are jokes) being said in front of their kids. Gentoo-dev is also a channel for development so this line of conversation is off topic (your mom). I would also suggest that it gets very close to violations of the COC for unacceptable behavior. Eroyf, it might feel as if you're being used as a scapegoat, but I believe for the good of the community as a whole we need to start actively backing up the above rules with actual action. For this time, please consider this as an official warning. The next complaint will result in a temporary ban/silence in the channel, if it should happen a third time it will not be temporary.
