Description Alon Bar-Lev (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-01-26 13:56:04 UTC
Sent offline, but I think it should be tracked.

fbcondecor patch for 2.6.24 complains of invalid ioctl before it goes into the silent splash at bootup. Also, when switching to verbose splash the boot loader messages are no kept, there are blank lines instead.

Worked fine in 2.6.23.
Comment 1 Michal Januszewski (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-01-26 21:44:57 UTC
I believe this should be fixed by: http://dev.gentoo.org/~spock/projects/fbcondecor/archive/fbcondecor-0.9.4-2.6.24-rc7.patch
Comment 2 Alon Bar-Lev (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-01-26 22:07:12 UTC
kernel: Can you please update genpatches?
Thanks!
Comment 3 Alon Bar-Lev (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-01-26 22:08:06 UTC
Reassign kernel

I'm not sure this is relevant to this bug, but it looks like it is.

Comment 5 Geoff Leach 2008-01-27 08:38:21 UTC
I was getting an error

sysctl table check failed: /kernel/fbcondecor .1.77 Unknown sysctl binary path

Not sure if that is the same problem this bug refers to, but the updated fbcondecor patch fixed it.

I'm getting the same message as Leonid and Geoff.

How is the fix applied? I just emerged gentoo-sources and it didn't seem to be in the current gentoo-patchset.
Comment 9 Daniel Drake (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-02-02 12:21:24 UTC
This bug is still open. It's not in portage yet.
Comment 10 Billy DeVincentis 2008-02-02 12:37:06 UTC
I just realized that, furthermore, I tried replacing the patch in patchset for ebuild, remanifested and tried to emerge gentoo-sources but it failed. I'm going to wait for it to go into the tree.
Comment 11 Billy DeVincentis 2008-02-06 14:17:54 UTC
Just wanted to point out that current patchset in development doesn't patch cleanly. Here is what happens when I replace the current patchset with the one from development.
