Is it possible to include asoundconf in alsa-tools? It's very, very handy for machines with multiple sound-cards. In the link you will find a quite fresh rewritten version. http://rafb.net/p/AH6aCf99.html
Not Gnome.
If you want something included, get it included upstream. Thanks. (And please, never refer to pastebins in any bugs.) https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org/alsa-bug/login_page.php
*** Bug 201573 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Sorry about the duplication, but a quick search give me nothing about asoundconf :/
As I write in the other bug, asoundconf is a script developed by Ubuntu to change the default alsa sound card for all video and audio applications as user. So it's not part of the alsa project. Maybe the right path would be to get it accepted by alsa, but in the mean time please Jakub, would you be so kind of leave this bug open? It seems that the user that reported this bug filled a bug in alsa. Check it out https://bugtrack.alsa-project.org/alsa-bug/view.php?id=3551 Until this bug is solved a gentoo user that is looking for asoundconf support at least could use my ebuilds :-)

Well, that was terrible :/ I'll try to change it in the alsa bug tracker because asoundconf is such a nifty script :-) But what about my petition to reopen the bug? I know my ebuilds wont hit the tree but at least they could serve the temporal purpose for what I wrote them
Added to sunrise overlay for now, in case someone needs it. http://overlays.gentoo.org/svn/proj/sunrise/reviewed/media-sound/asoundconf/
Thank you very much Jakub. It has been a real pleasure to work with you. Thank you to take the time to put my simple ebuilds in good shape too :-) I hope they are useful for other people. Bye and luck, Carlos
reopen for reassignment

It seems that this package is no longer in Sunrise.
