The KDE educational application Kalzium, in the tree as kde-base/kalzium, requires the FaCiLe (http://www.recherche.enac.fr/log/facile/) OCaml library for its equation solver feature starting with KDE 3.5.0. As FaCiLe is not in the Portage tree, the Kalzium ebuild presently passes "--disable-ocamlsolver" to the build system to disable the feature*. Zephyrus informs me that an ebuild for FaCiLe is available in the KDE herd's overlay, for use with the experimental KDE 4 ebuild of Kalzium. Unfortunately it so far went unnoticed that this ebuild could be used to enhance the KDE 3 version of the application as well. Consequently we'd like to see it integrated into the Portage tree, and the dependency made conditional on a USE flag. * In fact that configure flag was created at Gentoo's behest last year, see http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=109474 Reproducible: Always
Thanks, Eike, for reporting this! dev-ml/facile-1.1 is now in the tree and once the arch teams have keyworded it (cf. bug 192065), I'm going to add new revisions of both kdeedu and kalzium to the tree.
This is fixed in 3.5.8.
