Description Todd Daily 2007-08-27 04:57:05 UTC
This error happens when loading module "int10" or "vbe". The driver will claim "Primary V_BIOS segment is: 0xc000" and then will complain that it's an "unknown type(0xffffffff)=0xff" before xorg handles the exception.

Research has shown that neither hardware, drivers, nor xorg matter much. Gentoo has been a common theme though.

Reopen once you've attached Xorg.0.log, relevant parts of xorg.conf and posted emerge --info. Thanks.
