network configuration section exists in the networkless documentations. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.go to http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/handbook/2007.0/index.xml (you'll see "Gentoo 2007.0 Networkless Handbook") 2.choose any link to the documentation 3. Actual Results: you'll see a "Gentoo Network Configuration" section, it's absurd. Expected Results: how to manually chroot the environnement for install the stage3. there is only information for installing by the installer (it won't work). if i follow your networkless handbook, i can't install gentoo (i'm on amd64 processor, the installer doesn't love it, see bug #178512). i select the severity 'blocker' because this networkless guide donesn't provide a way for installing a networkless gentoo.

No, it's not. Many people choose networkless installation although having networks. For example when they have weird network cards they can't use when on a livecd. So they install networklessly but want to have their network configured later on. The chapter is there to tell them how. Also, nobody forces you to use installer, if it's not what satisfies your needs, use alternative installation methods. Thanks for your report but I have to close this.
