Description Sander van Grieken 2003-03-09 12:36:03 UTC
I installed 1.4_rc3 from a stage3 tarball (athlon-xp).

I noticed the man-page for suauth and an example /etc/suauth were not present.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. (try to) su to root without a /etc/suauth file.
2.
3.

OK, thanks for this bug report. We'll look into it. The problem is with the shadow package,
which is not installing suauth at all.

Yes, because it builds with pam support. Support for suauth is not compiled
in if we build against pam, then you use /etc/pam.d/su and related pam
modules. Have a look at /etc/pam.d/su, it does have some examples of how
to create access lists, etc.
Comment 4 Sergey Starosek 2003-09-16 02:12:10 UTC
but su(1) manpage still mentions suauth(5)
Comment 5 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2004-10-15 23:24:12 UTC
use a 2004.x release

Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux".

I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers,
this is the only reasonable way to do this.
