Is there an error/bug in the unstable version of portage? Or does it work different in the new versions so that the ebuild needs corrected ?
Comment 6 Mr. Bones. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-12-30 19:01:15 UTC
Seems like a bug in portage to me. Take it up with the portage team please.

I'm having a similar issue with wesnoth too. It appears to be a parallel build problem. Try it with:

This bug is not invalid. It is a parallel build problem with wesnoth.

Please don't resolve bugs that are not fixed in CVS; this thing fails parallel install.
Comment 12 Mr. Bones. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-01-10 08:35:36 UTC
No, so far I've just seen it failing with unstable portage. Unless someone can point to a real bug in makefiles, it's invalid.
Comment 13 Mr. Bones. (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-01-10 09:05:28 UTC
Looks like a portage bug so far to me.

Yes, and there's nothing portage can do about broken build systems...
Comment 18 Nils Kneuper 2007-01-15 22:37:15 UTC
Wesnoth builds nicely over here with these details to follow. I am running unstable. The only package that I did force to change was freetype. I updated it to 2.2.1 since Wesnoth is affected by the gentoo bug #150935. The rest is from normal unstable, running 5 threads parallel.

It works with the following versions:

[ebuild R ] sys-apps/portage-2.1.2.2 USE="doc -build -epydoc (-selinux)" LINGUAS="-pl" 0 kB
[ebuild R ] games-strategy/wesnoth-1.2.3 USE="editor gnome kde nls tools -dedicated -lite -server" 0 kB

Thanks,
Erik
