fontconfig-2.4.2 seems to provide config files incompatible with the fontconfig in app-emulation/emul-linux-x86-xlibs (older version) This breaks Wine's fonts. Warnings running wine: Fontconfig warning: line 32: unknown element "cachedir" Fontconfig warning: line 33: unknown element "cachedir" Fontconfig warning: "/etc/fonts/conf.d/80-delicious.conf", line 18: invalid match target "scan"
It is not the fact it is incompatible it is looking for the 32bit version . Run a revdep-rebuild to see what I am talking about.
I get the same warnings when runing opera and some fonts seem to be missing or are not displayed correct. revdep-rebuild does not show anything.
Same here, no revdep-rebuild output either. Kinda annoying as my logs are pissing off the Wine devs as it seems to print it OVER and OVER throughout the logs.
This has been reported about 3 months ago in bug #149515 ... You need to get an updated 32bit libfontconfig.so from a ~x86 gentoo (or chroot, as I did), or wait for emul-linux-x86-xlibs update

I have just added app-emulation/emul-linux-x86-xlibs-7.0-r4 with fontconfig 2.4.2.
