This seems to be generally the case. I have hit this before on other packages. gentoo cvs does not seem to have any of the patch files needed to complete an ebuild no longer in the portage tree. If the patches are gone from the local tree it seems impossible to recover them to complete an overlay for a previous ebuild. This severely reduces the value of the CVS archive. It seems odd that the ebuild is there but not the patches it needs to run. In the current instance there is a bug in 9629 for GeForce 4200 Ti cards that segfaults. I need to install 9626 but NVIDIA-1.0.9626-i2c.diff is missing. Where can I find that file? Thx.
Here: http://sources.gentoo.org/viewcvs.py/gentoo-x86/x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers/files/1.0.9626/?hideattic=0 Now mark this bug invalid ;)
INVALID.

hmm, it appears that the files are there they are just hidden. The html access to browse the tree lacks the link "files" : http://sources.gentoo.org/viewcvs.py/gentoo-x86/x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers/files/1.0.9626/NVIDIA-1.0.9626-i2c.diff?hideattic=0&rev=1.2&view=log I dont think this is an isolated case and probably happened when the archive was restructured. maybe a bug in the script that creates the html interface.
No, that's not a bug, it's hidden by default as intended.
Closed.
beg your pardon, I should have been looking in the attic!
