Hello, The following packages uses app-arch/rpm, which is in maintainer-needed status, and it is depended of dev-libs/beecrypt that seems to be unmaintained upstream (This is the reason why I've looked at this). The app-arch/rpm2targz alternative seems like a nice one, there is also an rpm eclass that uses it. Please try to remove the app-arch/rpm dependency. Thanks! --- sci-libs/mkl sci@gentoo.org app-arch/alien lordvan@gentoo.org app-arch/deltarpm vapier@gentoo.org sys-apps/yum maintainer-needed@gentoo.org app-emulation/win4lin bass@gentoo.org net-misc/icaclient wolf31o2@gentoo.org dev-lang/icc karltk@gentoo.org dev-lang/ifc kugelfang@gentoo.org dev-perl/RPM perl@gentoo.org net-analyzer/net-snmp netmon@gentoo.org net-analyzer/sussen pva@gentoo.org
Removing perl from here (see Bug 151790).
i dont understand the point of this bug if you're trying to get beecrypt/rpm removed from the tree, it isnt going to happen as for alien/yum/deltarpm, those obviously need rpm
(In reply to comment #2) > i dont understand the point of this bug Well... I don't understand the point of having dependency that is not maintained. If you don't think so, please close this bug.
i dont seen any open bugs for rpm so there's no point in removing it people are using it
