This is a tracker bug for the long-term goal of phasing out wxGTK version 2.4 from the tree. 2.4 is an obsolete version superceeded by the 2.6 cycle. It lacks many of the bug fixes that the 2.6 has seen, and is just an older version than 2.6, SLOTted just cause of ABI incompatibility. Blockers are applications that don't work yet with 2.6, have ebuilds in the tree that depend on 2.4 or other reasons.

Created attachment 108328 [details] wxGTK-list this should be more accurate.
everything but multiimonc is now fixed or has a bug number. i haven't decided what to do with multiimonc yet.
MultiImonc is no longer actively maintained. See here: http://hansmi.ch/software/multiimonc#no-longer If MultiImonc is the only package that prevents wxGTK-2.8 entering into the tree then please "trash" it a.s.a.p. Searching for MultiImonc does not give a lot of hits on gentoo-forums/bug-reports, so I guess it is not that heavily used.
wxsvg and dvdstyler need to be stable on x86 before the old version can be removed.
Gone.
