This is a tracker bug for the long-term goal of phasing out wxpython version 2.4* from the tree. 2.4 is an obsolete version superceeded by the 2.6 cycle. It lacks many of the bug fixes that the 2.6 has seen, and is just an older version than 2.6, SLOTted just cause of API incompatibility. Blockers are applications that don't work yet with 2.6, have ebuilds in the tree that depend on 2.4 or other reasons. Additionally, this blocks wxGTK-2.4 from being phased out of the tree as well.

ok all done except kenosis, which i can't remember what we wanted to do about. :P
There is games-rpg/openrpg still, which is at version 1.6.1 in portage that depends on <wxpython-2.5. 1.6.3 ChangeLog says that there are improvements to work with 2.5+ and bug 115079 is a version bump request to 1.7.1, which happens to require wxpython-2.8...
I forgot about this, sorry. openrpg is masked now.
Gone.
