Shrug... Upgrade your BIOS/complain to manufacturer? Don't see why is this a Gentoo bug.

Created attachment 94434 [details] dmesg whit acpi enabled dmesg of the kernel booting with acpi support of course sound dosn't work
Created attachment 94435 [details] dmesg of kernel with acpi disabled at boot ie acpi=off at the end of grub boot this dmesg is diferent of the first in a 60 percent because it not loads the acpi suport in the kernel so sounds works fine but no batery power or acpi events.
Please temporarily stop using the out-of-tree nvidia/ipw3945 drivers and concentrate on sound only. Post new dmesg logs from this setup, preferably from 2.6.18-rc4. Also clarify what you mean by "sound never work" - what is the error message?

Created attachment 96201 [details] demesg vanilla kernel version 2.6.18-rc6 whitout ipw3945
Created attachment 96203 [details] now i have one error if boots from the vanilla kernel see dmesg and mplayer error but i can use alsa mixer without alsactl error
.
> hda_intel: azx_get_response timeout, switching to single_cmd mode... Please go into your BIOS and see if there is an option to enable an internal modem (might just be called "AC97 support" or something like that). If so, ensure it is *enabled*. Also, please attach your kernel .config
Please also post /proc/interrupts from a a 2.6.18-rc kernel booted with acpi=off (where sound does work), and /proc/interrupts from a 2.6.18-rc kernel booted normally (where sound is broken), and lspci output from any kernel.

(In reply to comment #17) > Created an attachment (id=98059) [edit] > kernel interrupts 2.6.18 acpi on > an aditional comment to the kernel interrupts, when i run alsamixer and sound works i have only one alsamixer values master, but when runs kernel with acpi enabled, sound dosen't work i have master and pcm in alsa mixer, also when sound works it sound a half or a quarter the volumen in windows instead all values are at max level, i chequed speaker volumen

(In reply to comment #19) > (In reply to comment #18) > > (In reply to comment #17) > > > Created an attachment (id=98059) [edit] > > > kernel interrupts 2.6.18 acpi on > > > > > an aditional comment to the kernel interrupts, when i run alsamixer and sound > > works i have only one alsamixer values master, but when runs kernel with acpi > > enabled, sound dosen't work i have master and pcm in alsa mixer, also when > > sound works it sound a half or a quarter the volumen in windows instead all > > values are at max level, i chequed speaker volumen > > > actually the kernel that gives errors mplayer and alsamixer error is because > alsa version was changed, from 1.11 in kernel to 1.12 alsa-lib, the new kernel > 2.6.18 dosen't give errors in mplayer or alsamixer. > but give a warning about alsa_ctl couldnt change state
Please confirm that this problem still exists on 2.6.19. If so, attach dmesg output from the failure case and also clarify which messages do appear when you run alsamixer/mplayer/etc
Created attachment 104955 [details] vanilla kernel 2.6.19.1 acpi on "no sound" maybe in other life, i was an awfull person, so in this life acpi never work, jokes apart, with acpi theres no sound, only sound procesed but the speakers dont sound, no mplayer error, no alsa error no errors ?????
Created attachment 104956 [details] yes we have sound, but no acpi works, it must be disabled for get sound this is driving me crazy, no error same thing whith acpi on and off the only diference is that it dosen't sound.
well i dont know what to do, there is no error, i expect the next release of alsa, y updated to 2.6.19.1 and get the same facts, no errors, only no sound, someone whants another log file or lspci or something that can make this clear. Im a bit desesperated, may be i must fill a kenel bug ??? any ideas where to go
Created attachment 119227 [details] fixed dsdt
Created attachment 119228 [details] fixed dsdt the laptop has a buggy dsdt so it has to be fixed me s fixed in: http://gentoo-wiki.com/HARDWARE_Toshiba_Satellite_P100 this gentoo page in chapter audio you can find info how to fix dsdt if not send me mail so i can try to fix it
Does that DSDT fix the sound issue? If so, please post a diff between the original unmodified (broken) DSDT, and the modified (fixed) one
