When I boot the live CD there is no st0 or nst0 device
Enabling this in the kernel would make the disc more useful for recovery.

I should have said SCSI tape support.
If resolving bug 129504 will also add SCSI tape support then this is a dupe.
I thought they were different kernel options.
Please excuse me if I'm wrong.

This should be fixed in the 3.0 kernel specs for the admincd[1].
