The KOMA Script ebuild is way outdated, can somebody please update? Or is there a pointer at how to do that myself and then submit the updated ebuild? Anyway, the latest version of KOMA is 20060730, and can be found here: http://www.tug.org/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/koma-script/

Could it be that the new tetex provides koma-script? I tried switching to ~x86 app-text/tetex-3.0_p1-r3 (x86 is pretty old), but it's blocked by koma-script.

There is not much point in updating the standalone package since tetex-3 will (soon?) be stabilized.

I would rather suggest supporting efforts of the TeXLive2007 ebuild than trying to fix old stuff of tetex. https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=168177
