Description Stefan Kienzl 2006-07-31 04:33:30 UTC
there is no /etc/conf.d/domainname in
# MD5 HASH
6b2d4f5a3257b3c6937a088984f618ee stage3-i686-2006.1.tar.bz2

Handbook says you should edit this at installation but the file isn't there.
Comment 1 Andrew Gaffney (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-31 05:06:01 UTC
That file no longer exists is newer baselayout versions. The handbook needs to be updated to reflect this.
Comment 2 Andrew Gaffney (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-07-31 07:28:03 UTC
This will need to change in the docs for the 2006.1 release. baselayout-1.12.x should be going stable at the same time as it's what were using in the release snapshot. The replacement for /etc/{conf,init}.d/domainname is:

09:17 <@UberLord> agaffney: dns_domain_lo="foo.bar.com"
09:17 <@UberLord> agaffney: in conf.d/net
Comment 3 nm (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-08-11 19:09:31 UTC
Fixed in 2006.1 networkless handbook drafts.
Comment 4 nm (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-08-13 00:30:40 UTC
Fixed as stated above. Not found in any other current handbooks, so it looks like it's done. Blame me if you find any remaining references.
