ZOMG! Your box must be obviously glowing! Please, fix your C[XX]FLAGS/LDFLAGS before reporting any other compilation issues.

Not marking this one invalid only b/c it's caused by the stupid '-Wall -Werror' combo...

i checked the error a bit before reporting the bug since i (should) know the effects of my C/CXX/LD/FLAGS ;) (but not for -Wall -Werror :look: )

Comment 13 Mike Haller 2006-11-15 14:33:46 UTC
I'm receiving the following error when trying to compile using GCC-4.1.1 on an AMD64 platform:

libsyncevfs.c:642: warning: passing argument 3 of 'CeFindAllFiles' from incompatible pointer type

is this related or should a new bug be opened?
Comment 14 Gianluca Parmiggiani 2006-11-20 06:15:46 UTC
it compiles fine now (uh.. from a long time i think) maybe if your error is still present you should file a bug for arch amd64? i don't know

I'm not an expert, but I believe there has been some (x86_64?)changes in gcc-4 related to this (stricter checks on 32/64bit pointer passing?), so that

-       int itemcount;
+       unsigned int itemcount;

should be

-       int itemcount;
+       uintptr_t itemcount;

in the 0.9.0-gcc4.patch, at least for gcc-4.1.1-r1, this will at least make it compile on amd64 again.

Comment 19 Håkon Innerdal 2007-02-05 11:57:20 UTC
Sorry for spamming, but I can confirm that synce-gnomevfs works on amd64 with the uintptr_t change, being able to browse my WinCE based Qtek S100 in nautilus.

Note that I had to add a line to /etc/gnome-vfs-2.0/modules/default-modules.conf to make it work:

synce: libsyncevfs

This according to the wiki:
http://www.synce.org/index.php/Install_Gnome_VFS_Plugin
(perhaps the ebuild should be fixed to update the default-modules.conf?)

Additionally, maybe this will affect/fix bug # 143617 also?
Comment 20 Yarda 2007-06-26 18:31:12 UTC
Same trouble on my AMD64 - unable to compile. It looks like that the 0.9.0-gcc4.patch must be changed to

Opened: 2006-05-31 07:35 0000!?

Maintainers, if there is anyone alive. If this doesn't get bumped to a working version (0.10.0 is out), I have to bump it without knowledge of the software.

Doesn't build at all == Useless junk.
Comment 28 Jason Smathers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-12-09 07:42:25 UTC
Does anyone from the community want to proxy maintain this package? I do not have a CE device or amd64 hardware for testing, but I can commit ;) Contact me if interested.
Comment 29 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-03-16 14:23:25 UTC
This needs to be bumped or removed. As said, totally useless junk ATM.

  10 Feb 2008; Wulf C. Krueger <philantrop@gentoo.org>
  synce-gnomevfs-0.9.0.ebuild:
  Made the package respect the user's CFLAGS and got rid of Werror to fix bug
  206014. Further QA fixes.

So what's the status here?
Comment 31 Samuli Suominen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2008-04-30 13:53:06 UTC
